How It Works

How UK Match Fishing League Works

UK Match Fishing League recognises the fishing anglers already do. Anglers may compete locally or travel to larger matches at their discretion. The league does not require or discourage travel.

League points can only be scored at contributing venues or in matches run by contributing organisers.

The simple version

  1. Join the league
  2. Anglers join via a monthly subscription and receive a league membership number.
  3. Fish eligible matches
  4. Fish the matches you already fish — as long as they are held at contributing venues or run by contributing organisers.
  5. Score points
  6. The top 10 anglers in any eligible match score points from 10 down to 1.
  7. Bonus points apply
  8. Small bonus points recognise participation, inclusivity, winter fishing, and larger matches. Bonuses are capped so consistency always matters more.
  9. One result per week counts
  10. You can fish as many matches as you like, but only your best result per week counts towards the league.
  11. Best 46 weeks count
  12. The league runs for 52 weeks, but only your best 46 weeks count. This allows time off without penalty.
  13. Win prizes
  14. Top anglers win monthly and annual cash prizes paid from the ring-fenced prize fund.
